Families struggling to find reliable help and care for their senior loved ones often face overwhelming challenges; limited time, financial constraints, and lack of trustworthy options can make the search stressful.
There is a need for a seamless, efficient platform in Croatia that connects families with suitable caregivers while providing additional support resources.
A comprehensive qualitative research with 40+ participants was conductedthrough surveys to find a possible solution to this problem. Survey findingsrevealed users’ caregiving challenges, technology habits, and featurepriorities, providing a clear foundation for subsequent design decisions.
User interfaces & features
CareLink for Family provides a curated experience for the ones who are looking for care services. By completing an onboarding questionnaire and enabling location, a base of available certified caregivers in the area is shown on the homepage with a photo and brief description mandatory for the caregivers’ profiles.
Users can learn about their availability, hourly rate and specializations at a glance and reach out through a direct in-app chat. Once the right caregiver is selected, the user can proceed to scheduling an appointment.
Usability testing and heatmaps
A usability testing and heatmap analysis were conducted to identify usability issues, understand user behavior, and guide iterative UI improvements.
Participants were asked to schedule an appointment through a functional app prototype; with 100% task completion, the participants found the task very clear and intuitive, resulting in a high satisfaction in-app experience.
